The point of this post is because I just want to say that this experience of writing a blog for a few months has been new and very enjoyable for me. I’ve never been very keen on writing as I find hard to put into words what I think or how I feel about a topic - even in Spanish-, but this task has taught me a lot; I’ve learnt too many things, and because of that I am going to keep on with my writing skills, maybe on a blog or maybe I’ll write on a diary, I haven’t decided yet, but thank you for showing me this enormous and fantastic world (:
See you, Macarena!

Freaking out!!!Quoting the sources.
Few minutes ago, I was almost clicking the off button of my computer when, suddenly, something came to my mind: THE NEW SINGLE OF MAROON 5 WAS SUPPOSED TO BE RELEASED THIS WEEK. As fast as the speed of light I have searched for it on YouTube, and well… this guys will never disappoint me, they are… I have no words. Their songs are my life's soundtrack, I listen to them at every hour of every single day of the year. Months ago, I was planning to buy a ticket to their concert in Madrid but it coincides with several exams so, I couldn’t buy them.
Talking about the group, Maroon 5 is an American pop rock band that originated in Los Angeles, California. The group was formed in 1994 as Kara's Flowers while its members were still in high school and originally consisted of Adam Levine (lead vocals, guitar), Jesse Carmichael (guitar, backing vocals) Mickey Madden (bass guitar) and Ryan Dusick (drums). Kara's Flowers signed to Reprise Records and released an album, The Fourth World, in 1997. After a tepid response to the album, the band parted ways with the record label and the members attended college. Dusick and Madden stayed local at UCLA, while Levine and Carmichael relocated to the east coast to attend Five Towns College. While Levine and Carmichael were in New York, they began to take notice of the urban music surrounding them and later let the style influence the songs they wrote.
In 2001, the band regrouped, with guitarist James Valentine added to the line-up, and pursued a new direction under the name: Maroon 5 (1).
How would you feel if one of the world's most famous bands suddenly appeared unannounced and performed during your wedding? Would you freak out, perhaps? This was exactly what they did to film their latest videoclip called “Sugar”.
This period of time that we have been studying for our final exams, I have realized how important is to give our mind a break, and as I am not very keen on running, when I have spare time or when I need to clear my head up, I usually connect to an awesome mobile app which is called We Heart It. It is an image-based social network for inspiring images; it is a kind of a mixture between Tumblr and Instagram. On it you can upload and download photos and gifs - as many as you want-. And if people like them, they can “heart” them (it is the same as the Likes on Facebook or Favourites on Twitter). However, you must be logged in to enjoy all the advantages of this application. It is not a tough procedure, you just have to introduce a nickname and your email. It is as easy as that, so, what are you waiting for? Make your account!! My favourite place in the world
My favourite place in the world is where I feel safe, comfortable and happy; a place which makes me forget about all of my worries: a place which puts bad vibes aside. Maybe I feel in this way not only because of the place itself, but the freedom and serenity which it gives me. Perhaps, this place hasn’t got the most beautiful scenery in the world, but it doesn’t really matter to me because I will always consider it as my safe haven. I am talking about Alcudia a small town in the north-east of Mallorca. My family lives there, so every summer that I can go to visit them, we always go to Alcudia, as Palma is crowded with tourists and it is a mess. If you ever have the chance to go to this island, I encourage you to visit this peaceful place located in the north corner of Mallorca.
Complete essay
There are TV adverts of all brands, types and varieties. From adverts for chocolate, such as Milka with its famous purple-spotted cow, to car adverts with a squeaky clean Mercedes or Volkswagen. Since 2000 more firms have been investing an enormous budget in TV adverts, as they are their main marketing strategy. What are these strategies? Generally, ad men and experts on advertising use catchy jingles and powerful slogans to attract people’s attention. For instance, have you ever heard about these two slogans: “Just do it” or “Connecting people”? I’m sure you have. We are able to remember them because they are short, easy to learn and stick in the receptor's mind for longer.
It seems that adverts usually have a huge influence in teenagers only, because it is thought we are the part of the society which spends more hours in front of the TV set. However, I am totally against this statement. Apart from this, it is absolutely correct that we are more influenced by adverts because we think that having the last mobile phone or wearing something famous is going to make us cooler and trendy. Nevertheless, there are adverts for everyone, for fathers, mothers, kids, grandpas, grandmas, etc, hence, we all have succumbed to the temptation of buying something because of the advertisement (at least) once in our lives.
Furthermore, I would like to talk about the most polemic ad I have ever watched. I am referring to “Loewe 2012” advert. On the base of a senseless storyline, we can’t expect a greater job. In this ad there are five or six well-known teenagers who are publicizing this brand by saying that only if you own one of Loewe bags, you will know the real meaning of love and glamour. Furthermore, these teenagers are spoiled and it is very sad to think that their main goal in life is to have one of these bags or leather coats to know what real love is. It is ridiculous, isn’t it? Other ads I hate the most are the ones about the famous “vuelta al cole”, I loathe them because they remind us that our holidays are almost over.
It is noteworthy to mention there are many good adverts which people enjoy watching. For example, Coca-Cola’s ads which are tender, beautiful and sometimes moving. When Christmas is coming, Coca-Cola’s advertisements become another ornament typical of this time. Added to this, there is one I particularly love because of its special effects. The Dior TV commercial of 2011 starring by Charlize Theron, where she is supposed to meet Grace Kelly, Marilyn Monroe and Marlene Dietrich. If I had not known that these performers are dead, I would have totally believed it!

Xmas
From my point of view, the best and most beautiful time of the year is here!!! Xmas, how lovely you are! Families gather, Santa Claus comes, people kiss under the mistletoe, houses are decorated with Christmas ornaments, and of course, many jingles are sung! This is what I like to talk about, my Xmas song. It is lovely, tender, a little bit old, but for sure it is very beautiful and makes you feel relaxed. This song is called “Our love is here to stay”. Many singers - such as Ella Fitzgerald or Louis Armstrong- have sung it thoughout the years, but a couple of week ago I listened my favourite version of it on a TV commercial for Apple. It is based on a true story and it shows some flashbacks to the America of the 50s. So let’s enjoy it!
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Due to the personal experience with university in 2013, I’d like to encourage teenagers to take a gap year to be sure about what they would like to be in the future, and to find real passion: people usually make decisions as quick as possible - our main failure in life-. However, I already knew that this point of view of mine is a controversial topic because the great majority of parents are against it.
I do not want to be radical with this thought; I just want to let the world know that there isn’t anything wrong about taking a lot of time to make decisions, and all the more reason, if they are going to definite our entire lives. Saying this, please, go back in time and remember when you were eighteen years old. What word come to your mind? Immaturity, YOLO (you only live once), university…? They may seem unrelated words, but, in fact, they are totally connected and people do not notice it!
People want us to go to university as soon as possible to study a degree, do our best and, finally, find a good and stable job. At this point is when I wonder...why? Is it bad to take a gap year to be sure of your future choice? As you can see, I am totally against it, I think it is far worse paying two enrollments and do not enjoy what you are studying than being abroad for a year getting informed about the degrees you like the most.
In a nutshell, high schools graduates should be required to take a year off before being accepted by a college, in order to increase their maturity, because the university period takes -at least- four years; it may not seem quite a long time. However, it will leave a really big mark in your life.
