"I am Sam"

The film "I am Sam" is the story of a developmentally disabled and autistic man, Sam Dawson, who is the father of a child, Lucy. The baby's mother runs away immediately after the baby's birth, leaving Sam to take care of the baby.
Sam has the mentality of a seven year-old, but the determination of an adult.

The film is directed by Jessie Nelson in the spectacular scenery of Los Angeles, California.
However, the landscape is not the most important thing in this film but the music used in this as the soundtrack is EVERYTHING, because every single song can express characters' feelings. The Beatles songs have an important role in this film. For instance, the child's whole name is Lucy Diamond Dawson which refers to a very famous song of this British band.

Talking about the characters, there are two different groups:

         · The main characters
In this category we can find Sam Dawson portrayed by the Hollywood bad legend, Sean Penn, who does an extraordinary and touching job.

         · The supporting characters
The first one's Lucy starring Dakota Fanning. She plays the part flawlessly.
Then, we can find Michelle Pfieffer. She is the quintessential smart, focus and smart lawyer.

"I am Sam" has lots of different messages for the public. For example, to be a father all you need is love, neither a certain IQ nor a college degree. Also, this film teaches us that the most important thing for a child is to see and feel how much their parents love them.
That's why I really like and admire this film, because with its dialogue it can put into words what children need and feel.

This film is recommended for everyone who wants to know what true and unconditional love means.
