The ikea revolution. advantages and disadvantages post.

I’m sure everybody knows what Ikea is. This Swedish enterprise has captivated world’s population with its low prices and its enormous variety of furnitures and decorative items.

Buying in Ikea means saving money. This place is far cheaper from buying in other companies such as El Corte Inglés. Another good reason to go there to do you shopping is that you must find what you are looking for. This huge department store has anything you can imagine, from flowerpots and fluffy toys to bunk beds and sinks. Whatever you need, they have it for you.

On the other hand there are also advantages to buying in another shop. Putting together the furniture we have bought in some cases it is a great challenge. For instance, people like my father, who aren’t handy at all, find it very difficult and sometimes they give up on finishing the table or chair they have bought. However, in my opinion it’s worth doing the effort to assemble the pieces of furniture we buy, because besides it’s good for us developing new skills and learning new things, it is also a good idea, as you can save some money and you don’t have to wait the furniture arrive to your house: you can take it home immediately the moment you pay for it. Apart from this fact, there is something more that I could classify as a disadvantage. We can illustrate this by saying that the kitchen utensils -frying pans and water taps, as well- should be bought in specialized shops, which guarantee you the good quality of the item. To put it differently, certain things which demand resistance and long lasting should be bought in shops which are specialized only in this kind of utensils.

In a nutshell, Ikea, because of its reputation, is a reliable and suitable place to buy.

Have a nice weekend!
